About Us

Since 2003 Sponsor A Child has promoted child welfare in Nigerian institutions by providing a range of child rights based interventions to orphanages, schools early years centres and other centres for vulnerable children Our activities fall under 2 programmes Community Aid which improves living conditions through health and hygiene promoting initiatives and Education which provides child sponsorship, educational and recreational and resources to institutions

The Good Home Quality Service Advocacy Scheme is a policy framed performance management system for caregivers educators and social workers in Nigerian child institutions. The Scheme was conceived with a view to improving child welfare in Nigerian institutions.

Since August 2020, Sponsor A Child has housed the voluntary project, Borders Literature for all Nations. Borders is a journal and publicity platform for the African book industry and is a joint-organizer of the UN SDG Book Club African Chapter.

  • Deliver health, education and recreation interventions on the platform of Procter & Gamble’s Live, Learn & Thrive global cause, reaching over 3,000 children in institutions across 10 Nigerian states.
  • Develop 12 resource centers and enabled 15 start-up libraries in orphanages and schools across 10 states in Nigeria reaching up to 2,000 children
  • Develop 8 safe playgrounds in orphanages and schools located in 7 states of Nigeria reaching up to 1,300 children
  • Sponsor the education of 16 children at pre-primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
  • Train over 400 duty bearers in rights based child eg orphanage caregivers, law enforcement officers, correctional centre supervisors, early years educators, managers of centres for children with special needs.

In 2011, November 10th, SAC Coordinator, Ms. Olatoun Williams, was inaugurated as one of 15 members of the Ogun State Government’s Task Team for Schools’ Reform 2011 – 2014. She is the only non-governmental member of the Ogun STT.
